I have been using these pliers for a couple weeks now and I really like them. These pliers are heavy duty construction with thick rubberized grips. The slipjoint pliers as well as the regular pliers have aggressive teeth that grip really well. I have used the slipjoint pliers to hold a shaft several times, the v joint design is particularly helpful for this application. I have used the side cutters to flush cut fuel line, they work well. The needle nose pliers have a few cool features I have not really had a chance to use but I'm sure they will come in handy. Overall these pliers are high quality professional grade tools with a well thought out design. These have quickly become the front line tools in my pliers drawer.
Just as the title says – I've been pretty impressed with this set of pliers. I'm not sure if I've been buying really crappy pliers over the years or if these pliers are just that much better. I've been using this set of pliers for a few weeks now and have been pleased with the quality as well as the fit and finish of the whole set. Probably my favorite feature of the pliers are the cross-hatch teeth at the tip of the jaws. They grip like there is no tomorrow and yet allow you to apply less pressure to attain the same amount of grip as a regular set of pliers because the grip is so much more secure. As for the K9 Jaws, they really do bite hard, so hard in fact you have to be very careful with the hardness of the metal you use them on if marring or teeth marks are an issue on the part with which you are working. I have found the bright orange handles to be an unexpected benefit. The handles are comfortable and the color makes them really easy to find on a messy workbench or amongst a bucket of tools. I also like how far the channel-lock style pliers open. They seem to have three to five more channels than similarly sized pliers I already own. I took off one star under Durability"because the polished finish is pretty scratched up after only a few weeks of use. While the polished finish looked really crisp against the black parts right out of the box maybe a brushed finish would be the way to go in the future. I personally could care less if the finish is scratched but I have known people who have a very different opinion! Overall I have been quite impressed with this set of pliers and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good all-around set of pliers to add to their tool box.
I've only had this set of pliers a week now and they’ve been extremely handy! They have an aggressive bite, great for gas lines or stripped bolts and the flush cutters show minimal signs of wear even when used to cut thick stainless steel cotter pins.
